1. Information We Collect

The Virtual Chicken Sanctuary is a digital memorial. We collect minimal information to ensure the site functions correctly:

User-Generated Content: Names, dates, and descriptions you provide for your sanctuary and chickens.
Technical Data: IP addresses are collected temporarily to count unique visits to sanctuaries and prevent abuse.
Account Data: If you set a password for your sanctuary, it is securely hashed. If you optionally provide an email address, it is stored solely for account recovery purposes.

2. Local Storage & Cookies

We use your browser's Local Storage to save an access token so you don't have to re-enter your password every time you visit your own sanctuary. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the "Buy Me a Coffee" widget to accept donations. This widget may set its own cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policy. We do not sell or share your data with any third parties.

4. Data Retention

Your sanctuary and chicken data is kept indefinitely to serve as a memorial. If you wish to delete your sanctuary or data, please contact the administrator.
